Eskdale has a plethora of places to stay should Brook House Inn be full, or not quite what you are looking for.

Lane End Holiday Cottage Literally next door to Brook House Inn, Lane end has 3 double rooms and is easy to stagger back to after a few malt whiskies.
If you are looking for something basic for a group of you then Boot Old School (The Eskdale Centre) is just 2 minutes walk from Brook House Inn. It sleeps upto 24 in 2 dorm rooms and 2 bedrooms, has cooking facilities and a field outside.
Eskdale Campsite also has a camping barn and pods, it is a lovely site, again just 2 minutes walk to Brook House Inn.
A little further afield, maybe 3 minutes walk is Boot village which has a selection of holiday cottages including Bridge End Farm which always gets good reviews when people stay Bridge End has a selection of cottages with gardens and access to Whillan Beck.
A whole 5 minutes walk is Church House and also Esk View. Both on the track down to the river Esk and St Catherines Church
